Today, at the Herndon branch of the Orange County Library System, we hosted the Overdrive truck. Overdrive is a provider of Downloadable Audio books and Ebooks to libraries across the country. You can download materials and transfer them to your IPods, MP3s, or portable devices. We, also gave away MP3s to patrons throughout the day. The annual staff day ends with recognition of Orange County employees who have served 5, 10, 20, 30 and 40 years. Today is the big day! Staff day at OCLS! The theme this year is Ride the Wave. As we speak, staff are arriving for breakfast and networking in the lobby of the Main Library. So....we bought a Wii Fit this weekend.  I must say that after the first five minutes or so, I knew I was going to like it.  And, all the kids have loved it as well.  So, we'll see how it goes as far as keeping us all motivated to exercise, but so far, so good.

While not using a lot of 2.0 technology, I find the American Heart Association website has a wealth of useful (and reliable) information. As many of my immediate family have suffered from high cholesterol, high blood pressure, and heart disease, it is something I'm very conscious of even though the genetic/DNA predisposition may be too much to influence one way or another.

I think the thing that was probably the most interesting on the MySpace search was one of the personal myspace pages where the patron talks about the music he likes and that everyone should get their music from OCLS. Then, another post down or two, he talks about how his brother stocks up on CDs from Alafaya, and now he does, and so should everyone else. He then provides the link to our website

To receive an email when someone comments on your blog, go to customize, then settings, then comments, and at the bottom you will be able to enter your email to be notified. I wanted this and someone asked me so, that's how you do it!Collaborative learning! Watch out!
